Lynch On Happy Valley

2012 N.Y. RB Akeel Lynch visited Penn State Saturday as the Nittany Lions beat Iowa 13-3. Fight On State finds out exactly what he thought of his visit and more.

St. Francis HS (N.Y). RB Akeel Lynch was on the sidelines for Penn State's 13-3 victory over Iowa – and left State College impressed.

"It was a great experience," Lynch said.

Throughout the day, Lynch tried to experience Happy Valley to the fullest.

"We met the coaches," Lynch said. "On the field for pre-game, and I met Joe Paterno."

He added, "It was a great atmosphere."

It was the first time that Lynch had met Paterno in person.

But was that his favorite thing about his visit?

"My favorite part was being on the field before the game," Lynch said. "It was very exciting."

Lynch made the trip with one of his St. Francis HS teammates.

"I saw some other recruits but I didn't really get to talk to them," Lynch said. "I went with one of my lineman Miles Bartholomew."

Although Lynch remains committed to Boston College, he continues to look around – mainly at Penn State and Arkansas.

"I have been in contact through email," Lynch said of Arkansas. "I plan on visiting Penn State and Boston College [officially], and maybe a couple others."

But even after Saturday's visit to Penn State, the Boston College commit remains committed.

"I am still a verbal," Lynch said. "But I am still going to take my visit to Penn State."

Partially, because of how much Lynch enjoyed Saturday's visit.

"This was an unofficial," Lynch said. "And Penn State has a great atmosphere and I got a good vibe overall."
