The Cincinnati La Salle senior is playing at a high level this season, and the position switch to middle linebacker has benefited the 6-foot-2, 230-pounder.
"I'm playing really well this year so far," Burger stated. "I've been in double figures in tackles in every game, and I've gotten better every week. I'm getting more comfortable playing the middle."
"My strength is being able to fill the holes and stop the running game," he added. "I'm also running sideline-to-sideline better than before. I need to work on my drops in pass coverage, but that has gotten better."
Burger holds three MAC offers, but he is receiving interest from Cincinnati and Ohio State.
"I have the MAC offers and Harvard has also offered," he explained. "Notre Dame has offered me a spot to walk on and try to earn a scholarship. Both my brother and my father played for Notre Dame and that is definitely an option for me."
"Lately I've also been hearing from Cincinnati and Ohio State, and I've definitely interested in both schools," he continued. "Both have invited me in for games and I've been to Cincinnati before. They are on the rise and they're recruiting well, so I'm definitely hoping for that offer. That program is so much better than it was ten years ago, and I like them a lot."
The most recent school to show interest is Ohio State, and the Buckeyes are still looking to add another linebacker to the 2012 recruiting class.
"The Ohio State interest just came about in the past few weeks when Coach (John) Peterson called my school to talk to my head coach," Burger said. "Coach Peterson said they're looking to add another linebacker. They have my film and they are supposed to let me know soon."
"Ohio State wants me to come in for a game soon," he added. "They want to get to know me and size me up, and I plan on getting up there in the next few weeks. I'm definitely interested in Ohio State, and I'd love to have that offer. I'm looking forward to meeting the coaches and talking with them."
