While Monroe is firm to Texas A&M, he wants to take his allotted number of official visits.
"I intend on taking all five visits," he said. "I'd like to visit Florida, Florida State, Mississippi State and Oregon," he said. "I love the tradition at Florida State and their fight song gets me hyped for some reason. Florida plays fast. I love Oregon's defense and how aggressive they are. Their offense is nice, too. I like Mississippi State's style of defense."
East St. John dropped two of three to begin the year, but the Wildcats are on fire now, having won three in a row. This week, Monroe - who plays QB and DB on the prep level - will test a Hahnville secondary that includes Jerquinick Sandolph (LSU commit), Johnell Celistan, and Tyren Hills (Minnesota commit).
"We're playing good and coming together," said Monroe, who ranks fifth in the New Orleans metro area with 1,189 yards passing (12 TDs, only 3 INT). "We lost to (nationally-ranked) Carencro and John Curtis. Those are two of the best teams in the state. Carencro's offense is awesome. We aren't getting any love in the polls, but we ought to be good in the playoffs."
Last week, Monroe had a hand in six touchdowns and was named Class 5A Offensive Player of the Week by Scout.com.
