Antoine Recaps MSU Trip

Mississippi State commit Quadry Antoine of Belle Chasse (La.) was in attendance yesterday for the Bulldogs' game vs. South Carolina, and Scout.com spoke with the senior to get his thoughts on the experience.

"I fell in love with it," said Quadry Antoine of his trip to Starkville. "It went good. I got a feel for the gameday atmosphere. I like the cowbells. I got back (to Louisiana) last night. It was an unofficial; I'm going to take my official visit in December or January.

"The defense played terrific. Right before the game, they let us go into the locker room. The prospects also got to talk with the coaches, and I spoke with Coach (Greg) Knox, Coach (Tony) Hughes and Coach (Melvin) Smith. They were happy to see me and said they can't wait for me to get up there and play for them. I met a cornerback and two defensive tackles who are committed. I also met Alonzo Moore, the receiver from Louisiana. He (Moore) said Mississippi State and Nebraska are his top two schools, but he isn't learning towards either one."

Antoine and Belle Chasse are 6-1 following their first setback of the year (to Edna Karr), and things don't get any easier this weekend vs. 2010 4A semifinalist O.P. Walker.

"It's going to be another real physical game," said Antoine in regard to the Belle Chasse/O.P. Walker matchup. "On film, Walker looks a little more physical than Karr."

Antoine knows a great deal about being physical, considering that the senior has established a reputation as the hardest-hitting defender in Louisiana.

"On the first drive of the first quarter against Karr, I got a big hit on their receiver Terrence Howard," he recalled. "It was named statewide hit of the week on (WGNO-TV's) Friday Night Football."
