Lee Looking For First

Top 2013 Chicago Simeon HS (Ill.) TE/DE Devante Lee is beginning to make some noise on the recruiting trail. He talked to Scout.com about his junior season and which schools are after him.

Chicago Simeon 2013 TE/DE prospect Devante Lee is ready to help lead his team throughout the playoffs.

"Our season has been going strong since our first two games," Lee said. "We have picked up nicely from our two game losing streak."

And a big part of that turnaround has been thanks to individuals like Lee.

"I am very strong," Lee said of his strengths. "And an incredibly aggressive blocker, I can play guard, tackle, tight end, defensive end, outside linebacker."

He continued, "And I am working on getting my hands better but with my speed I could play a little receiver also."

The Chicago, Ill., standout has been playing on the defensive line for Simeon HS, but is being recruited mainly in several other positions.

"Tight end or defensive end," Lee said. "But I really see myself playing tight end because of my aggressive blocking, I think I can do well in just about any system."

And plenty of schools are beginning to take notice of Lee's strengths.

"I have visited Nebraska," Lee said. "I have been hearing from Wisconsin as well, and I am going to take a visit."

He continued, "I have also heard from Notre Dame, Michigan, Purdue, Western Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, and Ball State."

The 6-foot-6, 220 pound prospect was pretty impressed by Nebraska.

"The atmosphere was crazy," Lee said. "I loved it, it was the first time I experienced a college atmosphere like they have."

He added, "They also have an amazing coaching staff that are really down to earth."

The 2013 standout is still looking for his first offer, but knows it will come soon.

"No offers yet," Lee said. "But I am very grateful for being a big recruit for these amazing schools with great tradition."

Lee has planned to visit several more schools, on top of Nebraska.

"I am going to go to Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Western Kentucky, and Michigan," Lee said.
