Price Understands Rivalry More

Saturday afternoon found Michigan State pledge Josiah Price among the many cheering for the Spartans as they battled Michigan. Price talks about his game day experience and why he now understands more about the Spartans biggest rival.

Growing up in Greentown (IN) may not have prepared Michigan State pledge Josiah Price for the annual battle between the Spartans and the hated Michigan Wolverines. However, following Saturday's victory over the Wolverines, Price now understands more about what to expect once he arrives on campus.

"It was a great trip and a great win for Michigan State," said Price. "I wish they (Spartans) would have cleaned up their play a little and not had those two turnovers as I feel the score would have been a little better. But it was a great win and a fun trip. I love going up there."

Watching the Spartans win their fourth consecutive game against Michigan, does Price feel any pressure about making sure he's ready to keep the streak going once he arrives on campus?

"I wouldn't say pressure," said Price. "However, I know it's not going to be easy at all. I'm real excited and looking forward to getting there and working as hard as I can to make an impact for the Spartan family.

"I don't really feel any pressure at this point but I'm sure that could change once I get up there and start going through practices. But I try not to put any pressure on myself and just enjoy it all and just get ready to go to work."

While classmates are working through getting set on selecting a college, Price knows he's been blessed to have the process behind him.

"It's been super nice," said Price. "I couldn't be any more thankful to God, my family and everyone who's been supporting me. It's been a huge relief to know that I don't have to look at the whole college process as others in my class are doing at this time."

How much contact has Price had with the Spartans since making his pledge?

"Every time I'm up there I get a chance to talk with all of the coaches," said Price. "I talk with coach (Dave) Warner the most since he's my recruiting coach. We have a great relationship. I also talk with Coach D usually after every game. I've been up to all the games except for Youngstown State because it was on a Friday night and I had a game."

Price will be back this weekend as the Spartans battle Wisconsin in a major Big Ten battle.
