"Nobody else is talking to me anymore," Adams said. "I'm only focused on Georgia Tech."
That simple statement says a lot about Will Adams, who has been spending weekends on the Flats as often as possible as he prepares to enroll at Georgia Tech in 2012. He is still fully focused on finishing his high school career on a high note at Sandy Creek High School, but he's beginning to think about his college career as well.
"I love being up there (at Georgia Tech) – it's such a great atmosphere," Adams said. "I'll transition more to college life in my second semester of the year, though."
As he focuses on the stretch run of his final regular season of high school football, Adams will have one last playoff run at Sandy Creek. But he said the coaches at Georgia Tech have been in contact with him the entire way, and he's really pleased with the group of coaches that he'll play for starting in 2012.
Up next on the schedule for Adams is a trip to Atlanta next weekend for the Yellow Jackets' game against Clemson. He said he'll be bringing a few friends with him, and expressed excitement to get back on campus again.
Adams has been happy with the bowl-eligible Yellow Jackets in 2011 so far, but he added that he definitely didn't take Tech's loss to Virginia well.
"Man, that hit me really hard," Adams said.
