Running Backs 2013

The junior class of ball carriers has already seen 14 of their members receive a star ranking. They come from all across the country and more than a couple are out for the year. See how the running backs are doing this season and who has offered the elite prospects.

Jalin Marshall, 6-1, 190

Uncommitted. Middletown, Ohio. Marshall is the only rated five-star and reported scholarship offers include Cincinnati, Illnois, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Tennessee. Marshall helped lead his team to an undefeated season in 2010. He was 51-of-101 passing last season for 659 yards, 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. He had 159 carries for 1,405 yards and 17 touchdowns. Marshall is 24-of-55 passing in seven games this season for 427 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He's added 139 carries for 935 yards and 13 touchdowns. Marshall added 100 yards passing last week with two touchdowns and 65 yards rushing and one score.



Greg Bryant, 5-10, 190

Uncommitted. Delray Beach-American Heritage, Fla. Bryant reports scholarship offers from Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Marshall, Minnesota, Wake Forest and West Virginia. Florida and Georgia are the early leaders. Bryant rushed for 900 yards in 2010 with 22 touchdowns while missing a couple of games. He has 64 carries in 2011 for 797 yards and nine touchdowns. He's added four receptions for 92 yards.





Tarean Folston, 5-10, 190

Uncommitted. Cocoa, Fla. Folston reports scholarship offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville and Vanderbilt. Folston had 1,200 yards rushing in 2010 and 13 touchdowns. He has 52 carries this season for 478 yards and eight touchdowns and six receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown. Folston has five punt returns for 34 yards and one kick-off return for 22 yards. He has punted 22 times for 38.1 average. He has 21 tackles on defense and three interceptions for 37 yards.





Keith Ford, 5-11, 195

Uncommitted. Cypress (Ranch) Texas. Ford has offers from Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Utah. He had 1,296 yards in 2010 and 10 touchdowns. He has 825 yards on 119 carries in 2011 and 10 receptions for 85 yards. He has three punt returns for 23 yards and eight kick-off returns for 223 yards and one touchdown.



Derrick Henry, 6-3, 225

Committed to Georgia. Yulee, Fla. Henry's other reported offers include Alabama, Florida, Floida State, Miami, Notre Dame and USC. He had 2,788 yards in 2010 with 39 touchdowns. Henry has 159 carries in 2011 for 1,142 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has two receptions for 15 yards.




Ty Isaac, 6-2, 195

Uncommitted. Joliet (Ill.) Catholic Academy. Isaac reports offers from Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Toledo. He played in 2010 with a partially torn PCL. He has 106 carries in 2011 for 1,283 yards with 20 touchdowns and nine receptions for 226 yards and four touchdowns. He has added a 62-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.


Mid-season highlights, 2011

Deon Martin, 5-9, 190

Uncommitted. Bakersfield-Stockdale, Calif. Martin is hearing from "UCLA, Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, Virginia, ..most heavily UCLA and Alabama." He had 1,900 yards in 2010 with 23 touchdowns. He has approximately 500 yards in three games in 2011, but has been ruled ineligible indefinitely due to transfer rule.




Dorian O'Daniel, 6-1, 185

Uncommited. Olney-Good Counsel, Md. O'Daniel reports offers from Iowa, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina State, Syracuse and Purdue. He had 1,180 yards in 2010 with 23 touchdowns. O'Daniel is back-up to four-star senior Wes Brown, but still has 71 carries for 428 yards and six touchdowns in 2011.



Ashton Shumpert, 6-2, 205

Uncommitted. Tupelo, Miss. Shumpert reports offers from Mississippi State and Ole Miss. He had 1,368 yards in 2010 with 16 touchdowns. He suffered a stress fracture in the first game, but has rushed for 418 yards on 105 carries in 2011 and four touchdowns. He is 6-of-16 passing for 47 yards.


Game highlights, 2011

Adam Taylor, 6-0, 190

Uncommitted. Katy, Texas Taylor reports offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Illinois, LSU and Northwestern. He had more than 1,500 yards in 2010 with six touchdowns. He had 20 carries with 106 yards in the first game of the 2011 season before a knee injury in the season-opener cost him the rest of the year.



Altee Tenpenny, 5-11, 200

Uncommitted. North Little Rock, Ark. Tenpenny reports offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State. He had 1,232 yards in 2010 with 15 touchdowns. He was lost for the year due to a broken ankle in pre-season.



Thomas Tyner, 6-0, 200

Uncommitted. Beaverton-Aloha, Oregon. Tyner reports offers from Oregon, Oregon State and Washington. He had 1,821 yards in 2010 with 19 touchdowns. Tyner is currently injured, but has 67 carries for 513 yards and three touchdowns in three games. He added four receptions for 126 yards and five tackles on defense.



David Williams, 6-1, 185

Uncommitted. Philadelphia (West) Catholic, Pa. Williams reports offers from Maryland, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers Temple and Virginia. He had 924 yards with 17 touchdowns in 2010. He has 134 carries for 894 yards and four touchdowns in 2011.




Dontre Wilson, 5-10, 180

Uncommitted. Desoto, Texas Wilson reports offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon State, and Texas. He had 544 yards in 2010 with 12 touchdowns. He added 11 receptions for 247 yards with three touchdowns. Wilson has 59 carries in 2011 for 362 yards with seven touchdowns. He has six receptions for 71 yards with two touchdowns and two punt returns for 54 yards.
