Horton is third on the team in rushing with 391 yards. He's averaging over 10 yards per carry and has scored five touchdowns for Curtis, which is a perfect 7-0 on the year. This Friday, the Patriots face J.S. Clark (0-8).
"Our coaches do a great job of calling the plays and making us better," said Horton, who makes up 1/3 of the Patriots "Big Three" stable of running backs along with classmate Sherman Badie and sophomore Raekwon James. "Our young quarterback, Abby Touzet, has stepped up (with original starter Patrick Morton sidelined by injury). We talk to him, call him down and help him keep the correct mind-set, and keep him confident."
"I received game invites for Arkansas and their coaches want to see me again," said Horton. "I'm also interested in Mississippi State, Oregon and LSU. It would be a great achievement to get an LSU offer. That would make my mom proud, as she's an LSU graduate.
"I like LSU's tradition and how they're a positive influence on Louisiana. I respect how LSU strives for perfection. They're a great team that gets most of the best players from Louisiana."
