Bell's Heart is with Mississippi State

Devon Bell is a relentless competitor, just the kind they like at Mississippi State. He knows he belongs in Starkville, and can't wait to get there.

"My skill have gotten a lot better as the season has progressed."

Bell is putting in the extra work to make that possible.

"If I feel like my practice wasn't very productive, I will stay after practice and do more field-goal drills by myself. I am working on on field-goal percentage. I am probably like 50 percent right now, and I'm trying to get to 100 percent. That's what everyone wants."

And he is certainly seeing the fruits of his labor.

"I am ranked second in the state in punts."

Bell had interest from Auburn, Colorado, Ole Miss and Florida State before ultimately committing to Mississippi State.

"I really love the people at Mississippi State, they are amazing. You just feel like you are at home, and the atmosphere is unreal."

Bell weighed his options, but State stayed in his heart.

"It was after they offered me a scholarship, I went to visit some other schools. Those other schools just didn't feel like home, but State did."
