Kenney Adds Second Offer, Visits Hawkeyes

Indianapolis Pike (Ind.) junior defensive end David Kenney visited Iowa today. Was he tempted to pull the trigger?

After picking up his first offer from Iowa on Thursday, David Kenney, a junior defensive end from Indianapolis Pike picked up another from the Big Ten on Friday.

"I just got offer number two from Indiana. They said I could come in and play as a freshman," he said.

Today, Kenney visited Iowa with his father, David Kenney Sr., who says it was a first class trip.

"It went great," he said. "They're graduating a lot of D-Linemen and Coach Kaczenski , the D-Line coach said two years from now, you're going to be playing. I need you now. You could be playing now. I could use you now. It was good. They're a first class staff."

So was Kenney close to pulling the trigger?

"He wasn't. I was," Dad said laughing. "I was letting him enjoy it. Like I said before. It's not going to be long in the process. They're number one. Iowa's Iowa. They're a good school with stability in the coaching staff. They're going to compete and they're going to win."

Of course, more schools are going to be coming in.

"Cincinnati's supposed to coming up next week. Then we have to to debate on going to see Indiana-Purdue or Michigan-Ohio State"
