Houston Nutt News: Commits React

The news of Houston Nutt not being retained by Ole Miss broke Monday morning and some of the Rebel commitments have shared their thoughts with Scout here.

These days, news travels quicker than ever and many of the Ole Miss commitments have heard about this and some shared their reaction with Scout here:

  • Jordan Batiste: "I did not think too much of this when I found out because I saw it coming. I am staying committed to Ole Miss though and I want to see who the new coach will be. Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Mississippi State, and LSU are some of the schools still recruiting me," said Batiste.

  • Mike Hilton: "I honestly thought he was be there even after a bad year, so I am shocked. I am committed, but I am keeping my options open. I will look at Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and whoever comes in to recruit me now," said Hilton.

  • Jaylen Walton: "I am staying committed to Ole Miss, but I am opening my options back up to play it safe. I have always liked Ole Miss, so we will see what happens. I was shocked when I heard he was not coming back," Walton said.
