Five-star offensive tackle Andrus Peat took his first official visit this weekend, to Stanford to watch the Cardinal take on the Oregon Ducks. Peat gave the visit a "9" and provides Scout.com with more details on the trip to Palo Alto.
Scout.com: This was your first visit and you have Nebraska planned. Where else are you going to visit?
Peat: "I'm not sure yet where I will visit or if I will take all five officials. But possibly (will visit) Florida State and USC."
This was a big game, describe the atmosphere.
"The atmosphere was great. I've been to Stanford for games before and this was by far the loudest and most exciting I've seen it there."
Who was your host?
Watching the game, could you see yourself playing there?
"I could definitely see myself playing at Stanford. I like their pro style offense and could see myself fitting in well. Also I feel comfortable with Coach Bloomgren as my position coach."
What was your favorite part of the visit?
"My favorite part of the visit was spending time with the coaching staff and some other recruits."
What did you and Coach Shaw talk about?
"We just talked about how they are in need of a premier offensive tackle for my class and how I would have an opportunity to come in and play right away. We also talked about the academic part of Stanford as well and how getting a degree from there opens up so many opportunities after football."
Have you started the application process yet?
"Yes. I have started the application process. I scored a 1680 on my SAT and my weighted GPA is 3.9."
Describe the school, facilities, etc.
"I really like the campus and facilities. Also I like that it is pretty close to home and the academic prestige."
