Florida DB has two visits set

Mike Dumas is a standout defensive back prospect from Island Coast High in Cape Coral and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Mike Dumas talked about his senior season that just ended over the weekend.

"We ended our season last night, got bumped out of a playoff chance," Dumas said. "I played good though all season on offense and defense."

Dumas, 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, is one of the top defensive back prospects in SW Florida and talked about the recruiting process.

"On November 19th I'm going up to visit UConn, and on December 9th I'm going to visit South Alabama," he said. "Right now I'm kind of leaning towards South Alabama, but I have to go on these visits first before I can really know. I'll probably make my decision sometime in December."

So what is it about South Alabama that has his interest?

"I like the coaches there, we have a good relationship," he said. "And I think there's a great chance for me to go in and play right away."

Dumas says he's still waiting on test scores from both the SAT and ACT to come back in.
