Irish Visit Impresses Ohio Athlete

We spoke with Austin Niswander prior to his visit to Notre Dame this past weekend and checked back with the junior about his visit to campus.

Making a visit to Notre Dame is something Findlay (Ohio) athlete Austin Niswander will always remember.

"It was awesome," said Niswander. "It was a great time as we got to see all the football facilities, the locker room, meeting rooms, and Touchdown Jesus. I would give my visit a grade of an A+."

While his time was short, Niswander did speak with his Irish recruiting coach.

"I spoke with coach (Ed) Warinner at the game," said Niswander. "Notre Dame had asked for a more current highlight tape and we were able to hand it to them while there."

Looking back Niswander knows it will be hard for any program to beat what the Irish can offer.

"It was an unreal experience," said Niswander. "To learn how far back their tradition goes was unreal and eye opening. Hearing about their academic success is something I loved to hear about."

Niswander knows he may have to camp with Notre Dame to earn an offer. A decision to do so will come later in the process as he learns more about the interest the Irish have in him and interest from other programs.
