Adams Back from Arizona State

The Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian cornerback, Ishmael Adams, talks about his official to Arizona State...

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian cornerback Ishmael Adams has taken two official visits, one to Notre Dame in October, and his most recent one, to Arizona State over the weekend.

"It was a good trip, just getting to see the whole school," said Adams. "When I went there on an unofficial, I didn't get to see the whole campus, so this time I got to see it, and got to talk with the coaches a little more and talk with the head of the science department. It was important for me to talk with the academic people so I'm prepared for after football."

Adams was joined on the visit by his Oaks teammates, Jordan Payton and Carlos Mendoza, who's a commit to the Sun Devils.

And he and Payton were both hosted by freshman quarterback Michael Eubank, a former summer 7on7 opponent.

"Mike was cool so we got to talk a lot and I also knew Rashad Wadood, from playing with him on 1925, and I also knew Alden Darby from meeting him from last time," said Adams.

Adams is aware of the Sun Devils' depth chart, and knows there could be an opportunity to play early.

"When you get a chance to play early, you always want to take advantage of it and I'd love to come in wherever I go and make an impact." said Adams.

And he liked the family atmosphere the players at Arizona State provided.

"They help each other out and really want to succeed and see each other succeed," said Adams.

Adams said he'll be visiting Cal in December, and then may take his other two visits in January.

"I have my visit to Cal set up for December 9th and then if (New York cornerback) Justin Combs comes out in January for his official visit to UCLA, I'll probably just take an unofficial there that weekend. I may still take an official visit to UCLA, but I definitely want to go back there and talk with the coaches again and see where we're at," said Adams.

Adams said he's hopeful he'll have a decision to announce at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

"I'd like to set up an announcement for the Army Game, which would be January 7th but it could possibly be later in January and that's most likely," said Adams.

Adams said he didn't have a leader, and that he's still open.

"I have no set order or who's a priority," said Adams. "I'm looking at all the schools and I have a liking for all of them."

This weekend Adams and Oaks Christian will take on Palmdale Highland in the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS Northern Division playoffs.
