Butt Discusses Latest Offers

Two Big Ten offers in one day for Pickerington North (Ohio) junior DE Jake Butt.

Pickerington North's Jake Butt has attracted many schools his way with his 6'6 frame, athleticism and ability to play both sides of the ball. He added his eleventh and twelfth offers today, both from the Big Ten.

"Yeah, so another great day," he said. "Two offers in one day, Michigan and Indiana, two great schools."

Both schools have seen Butt in person recently.

"Michigan's coach, Coach Smith, my recruiting coordinator, came into school to watch me practice [basketball] a little bit. Indiana told my head coach. They had come to school awhile ago and they said they were going to go back with a recommendation to offer."

More schools will be coming in this week, as Butt says Northwestern will be by, a school that has already offered him. He holds additional offers from Syracuse, Iowa, UCLA and others.

One school that has shown interest is Ohio State, who he visited a few weeks back.

"Yeah, I got to talk to all their coaches," he said, but says they have not made contact since news of the new coaching change came through.

With basketball season starting and many options still coming his way, Butt says he's in no hurry to close out his recruitment.

"Yeah, no narrowing down right now, just little by little still. It's still early and there is a lot of growth and change to happen, so no top list so far."
