Buckeyes Offer Jamal Marcus

Urban Meyer is certainly looking to add to Ohio State's 2012 recruiting class, and he is looking to add speed off the edge. Ohio State offered Durham (NC) Hillside defensive end Jamal Marcus Saturday night. The three-star prospect holds over 30 offers. How does he feel about the Buckeyes offer? Scout.com has the answer.

Ohio State has limited spots left in the 2012 recruiting class, but new head coach Urban Meyer is aggressively targeting targeting top talent in an attempt to land a top class.

Meyer and the Buckeyes offered Durham (NC) Hillside defensive end Jamal Marcus Saturday, as Ohio State looks to add speed off the edge. Marcus, 6-foot-3, 245-pounds, currently holds nearly 30 offers.

"I was offered by Ohio State today, and I consider it a great offer," Marcus stated Saturday. "I'm definitely interested and I think Urban Meyer is going to do great things. I was offered by the wide receivers coach (Stan Drayton)."

"I know Ohio State is a great school, and they fit with a lot of the other great schools that have offered me," he added. "I need to evaluate them further, but I am definitely going to check them out further."

With an offer list that reads like the USA TODAY Top-25, Marcus will not have a shortage of great schools to choose from. He holds offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida, Georgia, USC and several other top programs.

"I haven't really narrowed it down too much, and I haven't taken my official visits yet," he explained. "I like Florida, Auburn, Georgia, ECU, and a few other schools. My decision will come down to my visits, and Ohio State could be a school I visit officially. Coach Meyer being there makes them a school I need to look into. I haven't had any contact with Meyer yet, and I'm looking forward to talking to him."

"I'm really not sure when I will make my decision," he continued. "I'm going to use my visits to help me make my final choice."
