Munger on the Rise

The recruitment of 6-foot-4, 275 pound junior Donovan Munger is heating up. In the past two days, the defensive tackle has nearly tripled his offer list. Check out what he has to say about his potential schools as well as what other schools he's hearing from.

Shaker Heights (OH) junior Donovan Munger is coming off an impressive season. The defensive tackle was able to improve his footwork and hand placement as well as his pass rushing and blocking this season and college coaches are taking notice. So far he's picked up five offers, with more on the way.

Bowling Green: "They pass all of the time, so if I'm there I'll be doing a lot of pass blocking."

Kent State: "They are a great program. I have a couple of family members that have gone there. I was able to go to their game against Akron this season."

Minnesota: "The offer was a big surprise for me. I like that the school is not in the middle of nowhere. I have a lot of interest in them and would love to visit."

Toledo: "They have a lot of weapons on offense. I also like how the defense gets to the ball quickly."

West Virginia: "They are a very explosive team with a great coaching staff."

Munger has also been hearing from Indiana, Northwestern, Tennessee and most recently Ohio State.

"I think the hiring of Urban Meyer is really good for the whole program and recruiting. He could build it to be an even better program than it already is."

As of now, the talented junior doesn't have a favorite school or a timetable for when he'll make his decision. He just wants to find the place that fits him best.

"I want to take my time and see where I feel comfortable and can see myself spending the next four years there. When I am ready to decided, I'll look at if they have my major as well as what percentage of the players graduate. I'm not really sure if distance will play a factor yet."
