Austin Hardin makes OV to UF

The University of Florida held it's football banquet awards on Saturday night and brought in twelve official visitors to enjoy the festivities.

The Florida Gators picked up a huge verbal commitment in the off season when Atlanta (GA) Marist High School kicker Austin Hardin announced for the University of Florida. The 5'11 195-pound kicker made his official visit to Florida this past weekend.

Austin Hardin:

5'11 195-pound Kicker Atlanta (GA) Marist High School:

"The trip went extremely well. It was a lot of fun and all the commits/prospects really got along well and we all hung out and had a great time together. Hopefully if it all works out we will all be Gators. The best part was just being able to hang out with all the guys and having fun time with them. I hung out with Kent a lot and the same with Jessamen, Latroy, Nelson and Marcus. Really almost all of us just hung out and had fun."

From staff on July 28th:

"After Nick Rose had launched kickoffs of 87 yards with a 3.9 second hang time and 85 yards with a 4.09 hang time, it was time for Hardin to show his stuff. Down to his final kick, Austin Hardin banged an 88-yarder with an amazing 4.22 hang time, the top kickoff in the competition featuring the camp's elite senior kickers."

"That kick, which propelled Hardin to the top overall kickoff average for the 3-day camp, along with strong showings in both field goal kicking and punting, reaffirmed Hardin's No. 1 national ranking. The results also secured Hardin one of the two kicking spots for the Under Armour All-American game."
