VT commit recaps Miami visit

Robert Lockhart signed with Virginia Tech last year but enrolled in Prep School for the fall semester. The south Florida native took a visit to Miami over the weekend and talked all about it.

Robert Lockhart took an official visit to Miami over the weekend.

"I went down there this weekend and had a good time," Lockhart said. "I really like the coaches a lot. We went bowling, met the academic people, and spent a lot of time with our position coaches."

Lockhart, 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, was impressed with UM's coaching staff.

"Coach McDonald, Coach Golden, all those guys are good, I like them a lot."

Lockhart said the Hurricanes have been recruiting him for awhile now.

"They started recruiting me last year but I was already committed," he said. "I ended up having to go to prep school to get more credits. Now I'm set to start school next month. My roommate, Taylor Gadbois, kept them updated on me and they have been talking to me ever since. I really liked the visit and now I have a decision to make. I should know for sure by Wednesday of this week on what I'll be doing."

Lockhart talked about why he's still committed to the Hokies.

"They have a lot of players from my area and I really like Coach Beamer and Coach Gray and the program they have there," he said.

Finally, the standout receiver talked about what he'll be looking at.

"I wanna play right away," he said. "I wanna choose the school that will help me grow as a person, too."
