"It went great," said Perkins. " I drove over with my coaches and we arrived and checked in at the hotel and then had dinner. I got a chance to take with the academic people and see the facilities. Then we watched practice the next morning and went to the basketball game later on. After that I got the chance to see the town a little bit with my host, Zaviar Gooden. It was was good. Zaviar is a real cool guy."
Perkins seemed to really enjoy watching practice and said the Tiger coaches talked specifics with him about where they would see him fitting in on the team.
" The coaches told me that I would see the field faster if I played linebacker, but they also said that they could see me being a power back in their offense, which is the same offense we run at my high school and I like. They said they were looking for a power back and were going to be using one more playing in the SEC. I could be that guy."
Perkins told me before the visit that he didn't have a preference regarding position. Was that still the case?
"Yeah, I don't really care. I just want to play and help the team. I am still not sure if I want to red-shirt or play right away either."
When asked to use one word to describe his visit, Perkins responded with ,"Great!"
He said that he will use the Missouri visit to compare it with his other visits he plans on taking starting with his official visit to Michigan State next weekend. He also plans visits to Ohio State and Louisiana State in January.
