Mt. SAC offensive lineman Junior Salt has been working through the recruiting porcess for months, but the JC player isn't drawing closer to making a decision anytime soon despite planning trips and taking visits.
"Things are going good. My next trip I've got is to Florida this Frida and then Oklahoma is in January. I want to be coming back out to Utah in a couple weeks."
Some schools are recruiting Salt to play on defense at the tackle spot, but Utah wants him paving the way for John White next season, and that's where he'd rather be.
"Utah wants to bring me in on offense. That's where I want to play."
The Utes have been in on Salt for a long time and have maintained a spot in his top group.
"Utah is still in my top five. I don't have any favorites right now. I'm just trying to take all my trip and get a feel for how the schools are and what they can offer."
Salt lists a top five (and one) of Florida, Oklahoma, Cal, Oregon State, Utah, and "maybe USC."
"For me, I'm not really picky about which school I go to. I just want to go D-1 and the program that is at the best level."
The big lineman is a current teammate and good friend of DE Koliniasi Leota, who is a strong Utah lean. The possibility of playing together has been a subject the two have discussed often.
"We talk about it a lot. He's my roommate. We've been talking a lot back home with family and it would be a big plus to play with him."
Salt is not one of the precious mid-year graduates that so many schools prefer out of their JC players, and will instead be graduating in May, which will allow him to take his time with a decision.
"I'm not going to be able to sign mid year, so I won't be making my decision until next month."
Salt Still Undecided
