New Option for Taiwan Johnson

Scout.com has an interview with Manvel defensive end Taiwan Johnson. He has already narrowed his choices down, but a new program stepped up today. Is he considering the offer? Find out right here in the Scout.com feature.

There have been a few top options for Manvel (TX) defensive end Taiwan Johnson. In fact, he actually named a couple of favorites.

But here recently, another program has thrown its name into the hat.

"Michigan State offered me," Johnson said.

So is this new team from the Big 10 an option for you?

"They (Spartans) are an option now. I'm surprised by the offer," Johnson said. "I got it from assistant coach Terrence Samuel. Michigan State is a good program and I'll check them out. I'm considering a January 21 visit there."

Arkansas and Nebraska are the two programs that he has already visited and Monday night named as favorites. SMU and Rice are the other programs that the 6-foot-3, 250-pound Johnson is considering. In fact, he is looking to book an SMU trip with teammate Glynn Cheeks, who is committed to Air Force.
