Willis Picks Up First Offer

Holland (Mich.) junior Corey Willis lands an in-state offer.

Holland High's Corey Willis had a big junior season as a quarterback, leading his team on an improbable run into the third round of the state playoffs.

The 5'9, 170-lb Willis projects to cornerback or wide receiver at the next level though, and has many schools interested. Over the weekend, he was supposed to attend a junior day at Michigan State.

"I didn't end up going," he said. "I should have went though."

However, he did find out some good news today.

"Central Michigan offered today," he reported. "I'm really excited. I wasn't sure how long it was going to take to get the first one, but I'm excited."

In addition to the Spartans and Chippewas, he has also heard from Michigan, Syracuse, Nebraska, Mississippi State and a host of others.
