"That was just to go support my best friend and watch his future team with him," Tapper said in an earlier interview with

The rumors heightened following West Virginia's potential move to the Big 12, which would mean Tapper could still play for an elite conference and have the benefit of remaining close to mom and home. Does this at all sound enticing to the 6-foot-4, 265-pounder?

"No, not really," he responded.

"I'm 100-percent solid with my commitment to OU."

Tapper last visited Oklahoma Oct. 22 on an official visit, he told

"I had a lot of fun with all the coaches, players and recruiters. Everyone treated me like I was part of the OU family and fans were great. I just had a great experience in the great Norman OK."

So where were these rumors born?

"I don't know," Tapper laughed.

"I'm excited about OU."
