Despite finishing the season 5-5 and not making it as far in the playoffs as they hoped, Braglio had a very successful season personally. He finished the season with 16 sacks, 73 tackles, an interception for a touchdown and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
On what attributed to his success this season, Braglio said, Over the summer I worked out with Kyle Jacoby at Sports Performance and we worked n a lot of speed stuff and strength. It is pretty much just down to earth football workouts. It helped my explosion and pop, and my reaction.
It also helped that Braglio's position coach at McDonogh played in the NFL for 11 years and so he was able to learn a lot of skills from him.
Now that football season is over, Braglio will wrestle for the Eagles and also compete in the Chesapeake Bowl (Dec. 31st). He recently competed in the Crab Bowl, which pit Baltimore against DC.
Wrestling really helps me with tackling. It really helps me with leverage and hands and that contributes right to pass rushing skills and hand skills, Braglio said.
Once wrestling season ends, Braglio plans to turn his focuses solely onto preparing for next season with the Terps.
I want to get stronger, faster, and smarter, Braglio stated. You can be the strongest man out there, but if you can't move at my position, then you really cant play. I need to work on turning the corner, foot speed, and reaction time off the ball. I need to be able to identify plays. There are a lot of techniques involved with playing my position. I plan on working on speed and technique all summer long.
McDonogh and Maryland run 4-3 defenses that are very similar to each other.
Maryland puts two rush ends out there. One end is on the tight end, one end is on the weak side. That is pretty much why I chose Maryland. I love the defense they run. I love the coaching staff and how Coach Gattuso coaches the defensive line, Braglio said.
Braglio has good hand skills, he comes off the ball well, and is strong. As of now, he is a better pass rusher than he is against the run.
Roman made sure to attend as many home games as he could to show his support.
I think the facilities at Maryland are great. I think the academics are great and I can definitely vouch that the food is great, Braglio proclaimed.
The Terps have told Braglio that they would like him to come in and have an immediate impact.
They told me they want me to come in at 245 lbs and be ready to step right on the field. Braglio remarked.
