Semper Fi Bowl: Day 3 Top 5 Offense

The Scout recruiting team selects the Top Five Offensive Performers from Day 3 of practice...

Day three of the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl in Phoenix got off to a slow start as payers were still recovering from their New Year's festivities. There was a lot of special teams installation but there were still some heated team and one on one sessions.

Bryce Treggs - WR - Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco

Treggs was the most explosive prospect at the East practice on Sunday. Treggs couldn't be any smoother running his routes and comes in and out of his breaks with ease. He didn't get too many chances to catch the ball on Sunday, but made the most of every opportunity.

Rushel Shell - RB - Aliquippa (PA) Hopewell

Shell had some fun on Sunday when he surprised the defense by throwing a touchdown to wide out Jordan Westerkamp. Shell looks like a power back, but has great burst when running through the line of scrimmage. Shell spent most of the time with the top unit and I would expect him to start on Tuesday for the East.

Cory Batey - WR - Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth

Batey had as much success as any West wide receiver on day three. The Vanderbilt commit was the only prospect to get by Deontay Greenberry, the wide receiver who switched to corner. Batey is physical and does a great job of playing the ball in the air.

Bart Houston - QB - Concord (Calif.) De La Salle

Houston made strides in the Sunday practice. The highly rated quarterback had struggled in the first two practices of the week, but bounced back with a solid day. Houston was on target with his passes and seems to have grasped the offensive playbook quickly.

Jonathan Williams - RB - Allen (Tex.) HIgh

Williams did a great job of catching the ball out of the backfield. The Texas product also broke a few long runs in the team session. Passing is usually the point of focus during all-star events and William's versatility should be a big help.

Others that stood out included Tim Wright, Jaydon Mickens, Andre McDonald and Jordan Westerkamp.

Check back tomorrow for Day Three of coverage.
