UA Game Day Two: Top Performers

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Scout had many eyes on All-Americans Monday and you can find out who their top performers were here.

After watching practice on Monday, here are the top performers.

  • Mike Bakas: "Alabama commitment Amari Cooper was abusing defensive backs all day and he dominated the one-on-ones."

  • Andrew Bone: "Amari Cooper (Alabama commitment) was my top player today. He is a smooth receiver who caught everything thrown his way. He did a great job coming off the line and creating separation."

  • Kevin Flaherty: "I don't know if anyone caught a pass on Bryson Echols (Texas commitment) all day, and he broke up multiple throws in the end zone."

  • Bill Greene: "Joe Bolden (Michigan commitment) was outstanding today. He was all over the field and he never let up."

  • Jason Higdon: "I thought Dante Fowler was the best player on the field today. He showed the ability to rush inside or outside. I liked his intensity throughout the day. He showed power moves, as well as speed and quickness."

  • Scott Kennedy: "Chaz Elder caught my eye today at defensive back. He's the tallest of the DBs on the White Team, and he did a good job of coverage on the sideline, elevating with the taller receivers to bat away passes."

  • Greg Powers: "The last thing any offensive lineman would want to do is block a defensive lineman on the White Team, but Isaac Seumalo (Oregon State commitment) has to and he did a great job. He plays with good leverage and he has quick feet. He could play inside or outside."

  • Chad Simmons: "Florida State commitment Dante Fowler was very impressive today. He was a tough match-up for all the offensive linemen on the White Team. He started off low to the ground, he dipped his shoulder, and exploded up the field. He used a nice spin move a few times as well."

  • Geoff Vogt: "Amari Cooper (Alabama commitment) is my guy. He completely dominated the one-on-ones and he was 8-8 with catches."
Chad Simmons is currently a National Recruiting Analyst for FOX Sports/Scout. He started with Scout in 2003 and then moved on to another Recruiting Service from 2004-2008 before returning to Scout the first of 2009 to become South Recruiting Manager.
