Brian Poole has been the most impressive cover corner after two days of practices. Today he was always in the right place at the right time and loves to bait the quarterback into throws he can easily jump. He is clearly the most physically gifted corner in this game and once he gets adjusted to the Southeastern Conference speed he can make a huge impact in Gainesville. Poole has played out on an island this week but can also slide inside and cover slot receivers.Jessamen Dunker:
Dunker really found a groove today with several pancake blocks where he drove the defender into the ground. He played with great pad leverage and used his hands extremely well. Dunker showed great quickness firing off the ball and surprised the defensive linemen with his upper body strength. I think he has quick enough feet to slide outside but he will excel inside at the guard position. Once he gets in school and adds strength the sky is the limit.Colin Thompson:
Colin I felt had an even better day than Dunker, Thompson gets my vote for the most impressive of the Gator crew for today's practice. He is a shade under 6'5 and 255-pounds and is very long and lean but as physical a tight end as you will find. One more than one occasion he stood up defensive end and Chris Casher who has been dominating so far this week. Thompson made several nice grabs today including one for a touchdown.Marcus Maye:
Marcus Maye had a very good day today and clearly looks more comfortable after two days of working out at outside linebacker. While he won't play the position for the Gators he looked good in today's practice. He flows to the ball and has great reactions. Maye seemed a little disappointed he has not been able to show his skills from the safety position but he is making the best of the situation. Maye is rooming with Nelson Agholor this week who appears won't participate all week or play in the game.Austin Hardin:
Austin Hardin I thought was the best kicker on both teams today. Yesterday he displayed his big leg on field goals but what I really wanted to see was Hardin on kickoff's. Today I had a chance to see Hardin really put his leg into it. The first couple landed at or around the seven yard line but once he got in his rhythm he was sailing the ball five yard's deep into the end zone. I still believe Hardin can come in next year and win the job on kickoff coverage and make a huge impact for opposing field starting field position.Latroy Pittman:
Latroy Pittman was frustrated yesterday not getting many opportunities from the slot position but was able to have his number called today and cashed in. Pittman made several nice grabs today and was able to get some separation from the defensive backs. He needs some more touches to get his confidence going but has all the tools to be a really productive wide receiver for the Gators.
