USAAAB: Mike Davis

Running back Mike Davis is representing the East in this year's US Army All-American Game. Davis recently opened up his recruitment and is being recruited by teammates at the game.

Running back Mike Davis is spending the week in San Antonio, playing alongside some of the nation's best players in the US Army All-American Bowl. "My week has been great, just hanging out with the players. I've really had a lot of fun. I would say I've been most impressed with Stefon Diggs and Germone Hopper. A lot of these guys were at The Opening in Oregon so I knew a lot of them before."

Davis, who was previously committed to Florida, recently opened up his recruitment. "I decommitted early December. The recruiting business has taken off, I have a top 5 right now and I'm announcing January 31st. South Carolina, Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, and Florida State. I think these schools need a good running back, and I think I could come in and fit in well."

Now that Davis is back on the market, many of the players in the game have taken to recruiting him. "Yes, a lot of them [have been recruiting him]. My week has been crazy. I've had Josh Harvey-Clemons telling me I'm going to UGA, I have a couple guys telling me I'm going to Clemson, Germone Hopper and Travis Blanks, those guys. A lot of guys trying to influence me, but it's okay. I see the talent out here and it's a great feeling."

One thing he's not necessarily worried about is getting early playing time. "Not really, especially not at running back. You have to learn and pick up the plays very fast if you want to get on the field."

Post-game, Davis has a packed January schedule. "I have South Carolina [visit] set up. Also UGA and Clemson."
