Antoine Sounds Sold On Starkville

It may not be 100 percent, but gauging from our conversation tonight Belle Chasse, La. defensive back Quadry Antoine sound like he is heading to Starkville, Miss. and Mississippi State.

Less than a month ago Antoine told Scout that he was going to visit Oklahoma State on Jan. 7 and that the Cowboys were in the mix. That was not the way he sounded tonight.

"I'm a solid verbal commitment to Mississippi State," Antoine voiced. "Oklahoma State is still recruiting me and I'm listening but I'm solid to Mississippi State. I'm going down there to take my official visit on Jan. 21 and 22. Coach Mullins is coming to my house on Jan. 16. I'm keeping in touch with players from there."

The Cowboys aren't only ones that tugged at Antoine's early pledge to Mississippi State as Ole Miss, Florida International, Arizona State, Arkansas, Missouri and Southern Miss were among the other schools that offered a scholarship.

"I actually had a pretty nice list," Antonie said, sounding like he is done with the recruiting process.

Antoine (5-10, 210, 4.55) was scheduled to visit Oklahoma State this coming weekend. It will be interesting to see if he makes that visit. He implied he isn't making any other visits than the one to Starkville.
