Four Finalists

Richie Brown is one the top prospects left on the board in the southeast. The talented linebacker has picked up several options throughout the recruiting process, but in the end there can only be one. Brown has whittled his list down to four finalists who will have the chance to roll out the red carpet for him over the course of the next few weeks.

"I am going to be visiting Tennessee this weekend," said Richie. "Then I go to Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

"I am thinking about squeezing in a mid-week visit to Southern Miss in between my trips to Tennessee and Mississippi State.

"I am not sure yet, but I am thinking about doing that."

In every phase of the recruiting process, Brown has been analytical and business like. As signing day approaches, the three star standout is happy with how he his handled his recruitment.

"It's been good," said Richie of the selection process. "I have enjoyed getting to see all of the schools and meet all of the coaches.

"I am glad I waited because some things changed with some of the schools that were recruiting me.

"A lot has happened since the end of the season. I got some new offers that I might not have picked up if I had committed early and there were some coaching changes.

"I am really glad that I took my time with everything."

Heading into the crucial official visit stage of the recruiting process, Brown denies a favorite, but admits that not all contenders are necessarily equal.

"I am trying to be open minded about everything as I start these trips," said Richie. "I can't really say it's a level playing field though, because some coaches have been recruiting me since the beginning.

"I have had a relationship longer with some of them, so that's a part of it all.

"When I take these trips, I am looking forward to talking the players and getting to know them. I want to talk to them about everything.

"I am just looking for the place where I feel the most comfortable and where I really just feel at home."
