Grand Canyon State Update

With offer 20 kids on official visits, brings you a mass update, including several commitments

This weekend has been one of the busiest weekends of the year from a recruiting standpoint. Over 20 student-athletes from Arizona were on official visits and Scout,com is here to bring yu the most current and accurate information.

*Record breaking RB Casey Jahn has ended his recruitment. He has committed to NAU on his official visit over North Dakota and North Dakota State.

Jahn says, "They have been really good to me and made me feel like a part of the NAU family. I liked the campus, the players, the coaches and what they are about. I think it will be a great place for me to do well in academics and school. And hopefully I can get some playing time as a freshman."

*NAU also got a commitment from Bradshaw Mountain OL Jacob Julian. He was offered yesterday and pulled the trigger and committed today.

*Glendale Community College WR Demetrius Wilson visited Tennessee. He had a great time but still wants to see Arkansas and Arizona. He will visit both programs the next two weekends and bth have offered.

*Chaparral linebacker Cody Ippolito visted Utah. "They showed me a great time and I had a great experience," he says.

He will visit Arizona next weekend and then make his decision.

*Chaparral DE Dylan Cozens also visited Utah. "It was cool, I really like their program," he says.

*Basha OT Evan Sarver visited NAU. He has offers from NAU, San Jose State and Air Force. He says this about NAU, "It was nice and very green up there. It just made times more stressful though."

Sarver has tripped to SJSU and says that Fresno State gas jumped into the picture.

*NAU got a commitment from Sunrise Mountain kicker Ryan Hawkins, who was also on his official visit.

*Scottsdale (Az.) Community College WR Jesse Brantley aso committed to NAU on his visit this weekend.

Brantey, who prepped at Gilbert, aso had an offer from New Mexico State.

*Mesa Mountain View linebacker Jake Thomas also confirmed that he made his verbal pledge to NAU on his visit this weekend.

*Tucson Sabino DB/QB Dallas Brown was offered by South Dakota State this weekend while on an official visit.

*Cienega WR Edgar Poe was on a visit to South Dakota State and had already been offered. Poe will visit Army next weekend and Western Kentucky the weekend after.

*Scottsdale (Az.) Community College TE Charles Brooks committed to Florida International a few weeks ago but changed his mind on an official visit to Kansas this weekend.

He says. "I think Kansas would be a better place and school for me since it is only four hours from my hometown of St. Louis."

*Glendale Community College DE C.J. Randall tripped to Missouri State without an offer but walked away with one. Randall says, "I liked it a lot."

Randall has visited Gardner-Webb and will trip to Stoneybrook before making a choice.

*Glendale (Az.) Community College linebacker Tim Piccarreto says he has committed to Gardner-Webb but will trip to Missouri State next weekend.

*Mt. Ridge LB Spencer Hammitt tripped to Wofford. His comments, "It was awesome, everybody there was really cool and I felt as if I were at home even though I was 2,000 miles away. The head coach, Coach Ayers, has been with the program for 28 years and he is still extremely passionate and energetic about it all. Top notch education and they have nice facilities too, the Carolina Panthers have their camp there. It is down between me and a linebacker from Cincinnati and the coaches are having a meeting about it tomorrow and we'll see if they offer."

*Centennial LB Brennan Franklin was offered by Eastern Kentucky. He also has offers from Wofford, Adams State, Mesa State and CSU-Pueblo.

*Peoria Centennial safety Zach Hoffpauir has been committed to Cal but tripped to Stanford this weekend. Nothing has changed. Hoffpauir says, "I am still committed to Cal."

*Chandler Hamilton DT Jaxon Hood tripped to Arizona and says, "It was raw." But the Boston College commit didn't go so far as to say he would flip. "I have some thinking to do," he says.
