Manley Commits to Syracuse

After a big recruiting weekend, Syracuse has already picked up a pair of commitments. The latest was a pledge from defensive end Josh Manley.

Though Georgia Tech was the longtime favorite for in-state prospect Josh Manley, he decided to head north to play college football.

On Sunday, after an official visit to Syracuse, Manley pulled the trigger to the Orange.

Manley, who was close to double-digit offers including from Georgia Tech as well as several other ACC schools, becomes the 23rd commit of the 2012 class and second of the afternoon after kicker Ryan Norton pledged.

Both players were apart of the 13-player official visit weekend Syracuse hosted, which included a visit to the Carrier Dome to witness the No. 1 basketball team in the country on the way to a rout of Providence on Saturday night.

The Orange now has four 2012 prospects committed on the defensive line, a position of need with the graduation of two players in the rotation as well as the departure of redshirt junior Chandler Jones to the NFL.
