FoxSportsNext – Intro: Chris Zook

Scout.com has a quick update on Houston area athlete Chris Zook, who plays for St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas. He has just completed his sophomore season and is already starting to see that more than a few programs are interested. See what he has going on in this FoxSportsNext Introduction…

Chris Zook
Quarterback/Wide Receiver
6-1, 170
Class of 2014
Houston (TX) St. Thomas

Early Interest: Texas A&M, TCU, Texas Tech, Michigan State

By the Numbers: Zook threw for 338 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INT; rushed for 447 yards, 9 TDs; 32 receptions for 434 yards, 3 TDs

Quick Take: It's obvious that the St. Thomas coaches look to get the ball into the hands of Zook as he has proven that he can get it done. He started at the receiver position where he excelled and was the team's No. 2 target. Just over half way through the season, he took over the quarterback duties and led the team to the state semifinals. As far as a college prospect, wide receiver seems to the position most suited for the speedster, but he may continue to take snaps for the Eagles.

According to his father, Chris has been invited to games at Texas A&M, TCU, Texas Tech and Michigan State, but will not make many football camps this offseason. Zook will be limited this spring and summer due to a torn labrum, an injury he played through from Week 2 through the final game. He got surgery on it as soon as the season was over.
