Gaia on PSU visit

Gilman (MD) lineman and Penn State commit Brian Gaia visits Happy Valley. With uncertainty and concern for the future of the program, did the visit reaffirm his commitment?

The Penn State sex scandal has forced many recruits to second guess their commitment to the Nittany Lions. For Gilman (MD) lineman Brian Gaia, the uncertainty of the coaching staff and future of the program left a big question mark. After taking an official visit this weekend, his concerns have disappeared.

"It was a good trip," said Gaia. "I go to to build relationships with my future teammates and coaches. I am excited about the future of Penn State."

According to Gilman assistant coach Henry Russell, Gaia is firm on his commitment to PSU. He is not looking elsewhere, and he foresees a promising future behind former New England offensive coordinator and new PSU head coach Bill O'Brien.

"I think it [O'Brien's hire] is a good thing for recruiting because if he can handle players like Tom Brady and Randy Moss he is tough enough to take on this situation at Penn State," Gaia stated in an earlier interview with Scout.com's Beth Long.
