Cox Talks Ohio State Visit

Demetrious Cox took his fourth official visit this weekend to Ohio State University, talks about the visit with the four-star prospect.

Jeannette (Pa.) four-star safety Demetrious Cox arrived late to Ohio State, as he pulled in at about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.

"I had a basketball game of Friday night, so we got there late," Cox said. "We didn't get there until about 2:00 a.m., my host was Ron Tanner."

So, technically Cox's visit started on Saturday morning after a few hours of sleep.

"We had breakfast early on Saturday and then we took a tour of the campus," stated Cox. "I sat down with co-defensive coordinator (Everett) Withers and he talked about how I would fit in with the defensive backs in their defense. I spent a little bit of time with Urban Meyer and then hung out with some of the players."

Cox wrapped up his visit this morning.

"We went and ate breakfast and then I had a meeting with Coach (Urban) Meyer," Cox said. "They are going after the BCS and he wants me to be a part of it. He thinks I can come in early and play nickel and compete early. He just talked about how I fit in and that he thinks I am a good person."

Cox has visited Ohio State before when Jim Tressel was there and with Urban Meyer. Cox definitely sees a difference in how the two carry themselves.

"Tress is very laid back," he said. "Urban is more aggressive. Everything is faster paced with him. It was a good visit, Coach Meyer knows what he is doing. We talked about my time table. he said he would be patient and to make sure I took my time and made the right decision."

Cox will decide his fifth and final official visit this weekend between Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Pittsburgh. Ohio State is filling up fast, but Cox told us he is not in a hurry.

"I'll decide my final official visit this week," stated Cox. "Coach Meyer made it clear to me that he would save a spot for me until I decide. He just asked me to let him know if I decide that I don't want to come to Ohio State, so he can open up that scholarship offer."
