Nebraska Lands '13 DB

West St. Mary (Baldwin, La.) has three seniors poised to sign with FBS schools next week, and junior prospect - safety/quarterback Trevell Dixon - is committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

"He's already committed to Nebraska," said West St. Mary head coach Ryan Antoine of junior S/QB Trevell Dixon. "His potential and his upside - playing DB - just doing the things that Coach (Corey) Raymond saw when they came down here for the spring game...he can do some real great things.

"We're going to put him some more at DB this year, but we're expecting some great things out of him. He's going to be the guy."

Dixon leads by example.

"Trevell is very nonchalant, very quiet," said Antoine. "You won't even notice he's around. He won't really say too much. He just shows up on the football field every Friday night for you.

"He's doing a great job. I'm expecting some big things out of him this year. He's going to be the guy with the ball in his hands pretty much every play. We're going to ride him a lot, and we're going to do some great things next year with him."

Dixon exclusively spent time at QB in 2011 but will see his role expand this fall.

"I'm going to play safety and do everything," he said.

Dixon started baseball practice recently. He pitches and logs time in left field.

"He throws in the low 80s," said Antoine.

The junior also runs the 100 and 200 meters, as well as the 300 meter hurdles, in track.
