Florence, Ala. athlete Beniquez Brown is going to wait until Signing Day to announce his decision. There was some talk that he might announce the week before, but that is not the case.
Many felt it was just a battle of two SEC schools, but Brown says there are three.
It looked like MSU vs. UT, but the Tigers are back in it.
"Things changed with Auburn since they hired their new Offensive Coordinator (Scott Loeffler). I am looking at them now."
It is now a three team race for the four-star athlete out of Alabama and he does not plan to choose the one for him until Signing Day.
Can the Tigers Hang On?
The top prospect in Tennessee is Sheldon Dawson. The 5-foot-10, 185 pound athlete out of Ridgeway High School could play a number of positions on the next level and Memphis is trying to hang on to him.
He originally committed to Larry Porter, the former head coach at Memphis, and since the coaching change, Dawson has been a little more open.
Dawson said he could make his final decision known this week. He has not date set, but he has told Scout numerous times that he does not plan to wait until Signing Day to announce his final decision.
Will Liggins Make it to Tuscaloosa?
As of Tuesday morning, Jeremy Liggins is set to visit Alabama officially this weekend, but there is still some doubt that this visit will happen.
Scout has heard that a final decision on this visit will be made later this week.
All signs point to an in-state battle for the 6-foot-4, 260 pound quarterback out of Oxford (MS) Lafayette. Mississippi State and Ole Miss both have a chance with Alabama and LSU possibly in the mix looking in from the outside.
We will have to wait and see if Liggins makes it to Tuscaloosa this weekened, but one thing we know for sure is, he will be announcing his decision on Tuesday January 31.
Quiet on the Tomlinson Front
Dalvin Tomlinson talked about committing over the summer, then early in the season, and here we are just over a week before Signing Day, and still no decision.
The 6-foot-3, 275 pound defensive lineman out of McDonough (GA) Henry County has been extremely quiet over the last month or so. He has visited Alabama and Georgia Tech officially and he recently cancelled a visit to Georgia due to his wrestling schedule.
Many felt early Alabama was the school to beat and they very well still could be, but will they have room for him?
Georgia Tech had two coaches at Tomlinson's wresting meet over the weekend, so they are very much interested in him.
Could UGA get him even without him taking an official visit to their school? His head coach thinks so because Tomlinson has been to Athens so many times over the years.
This is one of the most interesting headlines in the South because nobody really has a good feel for what is going on.
Tomlinson recently said, "I am just taking my time and really thinking about everything. This is a big decision and I will be picking Alabama, Georgia, or Georgia Tech on Signing Day."
He is currently going for his third straight state wrestling title.
