Intro: Jordan Howard

Jordan Howard, running back from Gardendale, Ala., is one of the best at his position in the state of Alabama for the class of 2013. He is receiving interest from several schools and has an SEC favorite.

"I haven't received any offers yet," said Jordan Howard. "Mississippi State and Alabama are showing interest. Auburn invited me to Junior Day. Oklahoma has called my coach. Duke came to see me yesterday.

"If I have a favorite right now it's Mississippi State. I like the offense they run. I like the stadium, the environment and how the fans support the players. I went to two of their games last year.

"Coach Collins and coach Mullen came by my school today [Wednesday]. They were telling my coach they want me to come to their Junior Day. They want me to come to their camp this summer."

The 6-foot, 203-pound prospect rushed for 1,488 yards with 18 touchdowns on 200 carries during his junior season. He added 10 catches for 97 yards.

"I feel like I have speed and power," he said. "I can use both of those very well. I am trying to improve on my conditioning. I want to finish off my runs and work on my pass blocking."

Howard attended his first Junior Day this past weekend at Auburn.

"The visit to Auburn was nice," he said. "I liked it a lot. It was my first time visiting. I didn't really talk too much to the coaches. That was really my first time ever talking to them.

"Auburn is a good school. I like the environment there. I liked the way the coaches presented stuff to us. They were straightforward."

Howard scored a 22 on his first attempt on the ACT.
