Dawgs see Dawson one last time

Josh Dawson had a couple of Georgia coaches in his home Saturday night and he enjoyed their company. Get the latest on this Vanderbilt commitment here.

"Coach [Mark] Richt could not make it due to a family emergency, but Coach [Rodney] Garner and Coach [Todd] Grantham were here for a while," Josh Dawson told Scout.

"It was really all Coach Grantham tonight because Coach Garner had been here a few times already. Coach Grantham talked about how he would use me, he talked about his resume, he talked about his NFL experience, and things like that.

"My mom got to meet Coach Grantham, so that was good, but they already had all their questions answered during the official visit. It went really well though tonight. Now I just have to make up my mind."

Dawson has never completely backed off his Vanderbilt commitment, so technically, he is still a Commodore. But, he admits, it is dead even for him between the two SEC East schools.

"It is really split down the middle between Vanderbilt and Georgia right now. I just have to think about things these next couple of days, and figure things out.

"I want to have my mind completely made up by Tuesday night, so I can inform each school of my decision. I have so much respect for each school that I want to let them know as soon as I know."

James Franklin and Mark Richt want the the 6-foot-4, 220 pound athlete out of Tucker, Ga. to join their program, but only one can get him on Wednesday.

When asked what Dawson likes most about each school, he said, "The education and the recruiting class at Vanderbilt and Georgia is just like home. I know people there, my family could see me play all the time, so it is just home there."

Dawson will sign with the school of his choice on Wednesday at 9:45am EST.
