Taylor is a Tar Heel

CH Flowers (MD) defensive end Monte Taylor verbally committed to North Carolina during his official visit this weekend.

CH Flowers (MD) defensive end Monte Taylor (6'3", 235) got the call he and his family have been waiting for from North Carolina.

"They called me down for my official visit this weekend," Taylor said.

"We had breakfast with the coaches. Five minutes later, the head coach (Larry Fedora) called me into the office and told me he wanted me, so, of course, I committed on the spot!"

Though he is close to qualifying, the 6-foot-3, 235-pounder will spend his fall semester at Hargrave before he will suit up for Carolina -- a dream come true for Taylor who has worked diligently on and off the field to become a Tar Heel.

"UNC has been my dream school. I am so happy right now!"
