Still Deliberating

Evan Sobiesk is in the unique situation of having some flexibility when it comes to his college recruitment. As a great student, Sobiesk will have some academic scholarships to work with which opens up more options for his college football kicking future. This weekend, Sobiesk got the red carpet treatment in Starkville, Mississippi, the home of Mississippi State.

"The visit went good," said Sobiesk. "Reed Gordon was my host.

"I like Reed. He is a good guy. He told me around town and showed me Starkville and where everybody lived.

"We had a good time."

Having the chance to get to learn more about the strength and conditioning program was a highlight for the talented specialist.

"We got to see the weight room and they told us about all of the workouts we have to do during the season and in the off season," explained Sobiesk. "They had some of the players demonstrate some of the workouts and things like that.

"Coach Mullen told us about what all they expect from us and that was a big part of it. It was good to learn about what to expect on a day-to-day basis."

Evan holds scholarship offers from Brown, Delta State, Jacksonville State, Montana State, Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky and Yale.

Mississippi State and Southern Miss have both offered preferred walk on spots.

With signing day looking, Sobiesk has some thinking to do.

"I really don't know what I am going to do right now," said Evan. "I feel like I have to have a decision my February 1st because I don't think my scholarship offers will be good after that.

"Of course I wouldn't have to sign anything if I went to Mississippi State or USM.

"I am still thinking about things and I hope to have a decision made before the 1st."
