Johnson combined for close to 1,000 yards of offense for a Gators team in search of playmakers during his junior campaign.
Gautier went 2-9 last season, but Johnson looks to do his part to right the ship in 2012.
"I feel we're going to be really good," said Johnson. "Everybody is in the weight room working hard.
"They're trying to find a coach right now. I don't know who it's going to be, but we are going to be ready to play football no matter who they get."
At six foot 225, the versatile Johnson looks to move out from behind center when he enrolls in college.
"At the next level, I will probably play linebacker," said Johnson. "I think I could play running back.
"Playing quarterback is really just a high school position, I think. I am sure I will play something different in college.
"I have heard from Perk and Jackson State," said Johnson. "I am hoping to bring a lot more schools during my senior year.
"Any school is good though. Any school that offers me a scholarship is a school that I am going to be interested in."
When his playing days are over, Johnson hopes to stay around the game he loves in some capacity.
"I want to get into coaching and education," said Johnson. "I want something to fall back on in case football doesn't work out.
"I would like to get into physical education or sports medicine."
