Elias Attending LSU Junior Day

Dutchtown defensive lineman David Elias will make the short trip north to the LSU campus tomorrow.

LSU hosts its second Junior Day tomorrow and Dutchtown defensive lineman David Elias will be there.

"I just found out today that I'm going," said Elias, who was taking a short break from a weightlifting session. "LSU is a school I'd like to hear more from; they've always been my favorite."

Elias might be joined at the Junior Day by teammate Shelby Christy, a tall (6-3 to 6-4) wide receiver prospect.

"I'm looking forward to talking with the staff at LSU and seeing more of the campus on the tour," said Elias, who is a two-time, first-team all-district selection. "I'm familiar with most of the campus from the football camps, but I haven't seen everything."

Elias holds invites to Junior Days at Mississippi State (February 11th) and Texas Tech (Feb. 18th).

"I'm not going to those because of indoor track," he explained. "There's a qualifying meet on the 11th where I'll be throwing the shot, and the state meet is on the 18th.

"My dad is going to take me to see Texas Tech during the spring. They're on me the hardest. I'm getting something every day from Texas Tech. I'm also receiving new interest from Georgia Tech and Florida State."

Elias is a versatile lineman who could project at either end or tackle on the next level.
