2013 Intro: St. John Lutheran (Fla) DB

Jamonte Jones is a standout cornerback prospect from St. John Lutheran High in Ocala so lets take a closer look at him as a prospect.

Name: CB Jamonte Jones

School: St. John Lutheran HS (Ocala, Fla)

Size: 5-10/175

2011 season stats: Jones finished his junior season with 34 tackles and seven picks on defense. He also had 12 catches for 209 yards and five touchdowns at wide receiver. He also was the team's leading return specialist.

Grades: 3.0 GPA/no test yet

Recruiting: Jones claims he has the same list of early favorites as his twin brother, Damonte. Those schools include his two favorites growing up -- Florida and South Florida -- along with Miami, Florida State, and Alabama. He hasn't have been offered by anyone yet and says good coaching and the ability to play with his brother in college will be the two biggest things he will look for in a school.

As a Prospect: Jones put his name on the recruiting map with a strong sophomore season at Ocala Trinity, where they won a state title in 2010. He's a terrific football player, doubling up on both sides of the football. He's a threat at wide receiver on offense and is a legit cover guy on defense who can play corner or safety. He has tremendous ball skills and runs very well. Like his twin brother, Jamonte is expected to become a major BCS-caliber prospect in the coming months. The two are planning on going to the same college.
