Glenn Russell profile

Russell had a nice season for Lawrence County last year as a junior, and he is starting to get more and more interest as he begins to look ahead to the next level.

"I am in basketball right now, and we just ended the post-season," he said. "Basketball is helping me with my coordination and foot work.

"As far as where I am getting the most looks from colleges, it is football for me."

He is still hearing from four schools right now, though he is waiting for that first offer.

"I am hearing from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, and Missouri right now," he informed us.

"Missouri just started sending me letters of interest."

He plans to make several visits to junior days around the state, though he is uncertain the exact schedule. He wants to visit all three Mississippi schools this spring.

He is 6'3, weighs 205lbs. and can play a variety of positions. The talented athlete from Monticello talked about his game.

"I play running back and some receiver, and I feel like I am a very hard worker," he said. "I need to work on my footwork and seeing the hole better. I am confident but I am not cocky.

"I played defense for the first time this year. I loved it, I played cornerback but I know I need work in that area too. Honestly I would just like to play where I am needed and can fit a team."

He said he does not have a leader at this point, he'll take his visits and see who offers before naming any leaders.
