But Georgia Tech has Thomas' attention, with one reason possibly weighing more heavily than anything – His former teammate at Godby, quarterback Dennis Andrews, is now at Georgia Tech. Since the Yellow Jackets have his quarterback already, Thomas may be more inclined to get to know the GT coaches better.
"(Andrews) will be in Tallahassee this Sunday, so I'll definitely be talking to him," Thomas said.
While Thomas doesn't know what position the GT coaching staff would like to see him play, he's sure that he would be best suited as a running back at the college level. With his smaller, speedier build, Thomas said his elusiveness and breakaway speed would be good for Tech's triple-option offense.
Even though he is used to running a shotgun offense at Godby High, Thomas said he has seen Georgia Tech's offense and he is a fan.
"I like the triple-option – they have good backs and had a good season," Thomas said about GT's 2011 season.
With offers to several other southeastern schools in hand, Thomas said he is a Tallahassee guy but his options are wide-open at this point.
"Everyone is equal right now," he said. "I'll probably make my final decision at the end of the football season."
