Savaiinaea has monster NIKE Combine

Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou linebacker Isaac Savaiinaea could be the top prospect on the Islands next fall and his recent showing at the NIKE SPARQ Combine in Honolulu justified that.

Isaac Savaiinaea had a monster showing at St. Louis high school measuring in a rock solid 6-3, 231 pounds, clocked a 4.66-40 (electronic time), 4.14 in the shuttle, jumped 31 inches in the vertical and threw the power ball 38'. His 110.82 SPARQ Rating was No. 1 at the combine in an event that featured over 450 players.

Savaiinaea already has scholarship offers from Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii and Stanford and has one early favorite.

"I really like Stanford a lot," Savaiinaea said. "I'm going to try and go to their Junior Day in March. Hopefully my showing at the NIKE Combine will pick up interest for me and a few more schools will offer. Two schools I like a lot, that haven't offered, are Oregon and USC and I would love to hear more from both of those schools.

"Right now, my main focus is just getting better and working hard on the field and in the classroom. I have a 3.3 GPA and I want to get that up to a 3.5 at least. I also want to continue to work hard on my testing numbers and lower my 40 time in to the 4.5 range and improve my strength as well. A big goal for me this year is to make one of the All-American games so I'm putting in a lot of work to try and make that happen."
